"The depth and level of which one chooses to develop his/ or her skills on the drums (or any instrument) is of deep personal decision. I personally have chosen to develop my skills as far and to the best of my ability, for nothing more than a deeper understanding of my craft, musical ability and overall facility. Everyday on the drums is a new, mysterious and uncertain adventure."
-Daniel Luttick
Daniel's intense and undying passion for rhythm and music began at the age of five. Since that time Daniel has played and studied with some of the best players in his native Australia, also having travelled to the USA, studying with some of the best players in the world, notably, Dom Famularo, Jim Chapin, Joe Morello and fellow Australian drumming icon, Virgil Donati.
Born in Melbourne, Australia, Daniel has spent over twenty years developing and mastering his skills on the drums, becoming a near obsessive player, relentlessly developing, moulding, maintaining his ideas while searching for new and exciting concepts. Mind-blowing hand technique along with an increasing level of endurance and showmanship plus simply amazing double bass drum playing all play an important role in crafting Daniel's individual sound on the drums.
Daniel was voted "Australia's Up and Coming Drummer" competition winner for 2002, subsequently appearing in the International drum publications DrumScene Magazine (Aust., July 2002 and Dec/Jan/Feb 2006) and Modern Drummer Magazine (USA, June 2006). After establishing his own fusion act Xtreme Measures, touring with the likes of Eric Martin (Mr. Big), recording with various International bands, recording and performing with the dynamically original Metal band Synthetic Breed while also performing clinics in South America, Japan and Europe, Daniel is becoming a drumming force to be reckoned with.
"I heard Daniel at The Ultimate Drummers Weekend where there were an amazing amount of very talented drummers! When Dan sat down to play, I was so impressed with his maturity, dedication, musicality and shear talent on the drums! He played some very difficult material with ease, then improvised sounding like a drummer who was playing for many years past Dan's young age! I look forward to returning to Australia to hear him again! We will surely be hearing Dan on the International Drum Scene!"
